The Dance is a live album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 19 August 1997. It hailed the return of the band's most successful line-up of Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie and Stevie Nicks, who had not released an album together since 1987's Tango in the Night a decade earlier. It was the first Fleetwood Mac release to top the U. album charts since 1982's Mirage. Since there's so much new material, The Dance can't be a truly nostalgic experience either, because the new songs interrupt the flow. Not that they're bad - both Buckingham's gentle Bleed to Love Her and nervy My Little Demon are first-rate - but they aren't given the full-fledged production they deserve. Fleetwood Mac has been my favorite band since the 1975 line-up formed, and I was devastated by the news of Lindsey Buckingham's firing. I was also very disappointed to see videos of the new line up in concert and realize that the magic is definitely gone. So I purchased the DVD of The Dance, which features songs not on the CD version to relive the memories of when the band was at a real peak in their career. The sound is amazing, the concert is fantastic, and now when I want to hear Fleetwood Mac, I won't have to listen to some new configuration that can't hold a candle to what. The Dance is a live album and videoDVD by Fleetwood Mac released in 1997. It marked the reunion of the band's highly successful Rumours line-up. This made it the first full Fleetwood Mac album to feature Lindsey Buckingham as a member since Tango in the Night 1987 and the first to feature Stevie Nicks since Behind the Mask 1990. So far it is also the last to feature Christine McVie who left the group in 1998. She returned in 2014 but no new album has been released under the Fleetwood Mac name.
